Analysis of fire resistance test of fire door

Every fire door enterprise knows the principle of "quality-oriented". Let's briefly analyze the main reasons for the failure of fire doors:

1. Materials of fire door core board and fire board

       Thermal conductivity of the door core board (thickness, generally 32mm for Class A doors)

       Flexural strength

       Fire resistance limit (the key to fire resistance time of fire doors)


2. Filling method of door core board

       Wet filling

       Wet filling requires attention to filling density (bulk density) and moisture content (dry). It is best to fill the whole board with dry filling. If splicing is required, the splicing should be protected.


3. Moisture content of door core board

       The moisture content has a great influence on the steel fire door. If the moisture content is too high, a large amount of water evaporates in the fire resistance test, resulting in aeration and separation between the door core board and the steel plate. So make vent holes on both sides or bottom of the door leaf.


4. Fire lock, keel and door frame (weak heat insulation)

       The fire lock and keel cannot be filled with the door core board, so the temperature rises quickly, and the fireproof board slot box can be added for protection; conventional bending welding, as the temperature rises, the steel plate is deformed and the welding point collapses, and the hot air enters the door leaf, which is easy to exceed If the temperature is not qualified, it can be improved by bending and interlocking.


5. Fire door frame

       Reduce the fire area and the thickness of the steel plate, increase the width of the back fire surface of the door frame, and adopt thermal insulation measures at the frame-sash joint.

       The main reason for the over-temperature of the door frame (upper frame) is the deformation of the door leaf, the poor adhesion of the sealing strip at high temperature, the low expansion coefficient, and the gap cannot be sealed well, so that the hot air escapes directly from the gap and directly heats the door frame.


6. Dimensional tolerance of door leaf and door frame

       Geometric and fit tolerances

       The shape and position tolerance is large, the flatness of the door leaf and the door frame itself is not good, and the fire is more prone to fire; the matching tolerance does not meet the requirements, the lap size is insufficient, and the gap is too large. Flames can easily escape from the gaps.

       Attention should be paid to the structural design of the fire door, the production and installation process of the door leaf and door frame, and for the fire door installed in the project, the size of the gap should be confirmed when it is put into use.


7. Sealing strip

       Material (graphite type), fixing method

       The sealing strip should be installed firmly. A sealing groove should be opened on the butt surface of the frame and the fan, and it should be embedded in the sealing groove by gluing. The wooden fire door should preferably be fixed by mechanical connection.


8. Deformation of fire door after fire

       Steel fire door: convex to the fire surface, the upper and lower ends are warped outward, the high-density door core plate can restrain the deformation of the steel panel, increase the bending resistance and thickness of the keel, and connect with the edge steel structure reliably; Reduce the temperature difference between the two sides.

       Wooden fire door: convex to the back fire, high-density hardwood (meranti, fir, etc.), completely flame retardant (vacuum pressurization heating and flame retardant), fire-resistant surface plus fireproof board.


9. Fire doors with glass

       The fire resistance of fireproof glass is mainly in line with glass (the thickness of fireproof liquid is 25mm Class A door)

       The overlap between the fireproof glass and the door leaf (mainly the upper edge of the glass), the fireproof glass and the door leaf, and the sealing strip between the glass and the bead can play the role of fire prevention and shock absorption.
